The two books I have read are Pendragon by DJ Machale the other was Incarceron by Catherine Fisher. They are both centered on fantasy, action, romance, mystery, adventure and magic. In Pendragon the main character goes to another world through a portal. While in Incarceron the two main characters travel back and forth between the prison and reality through their own portal. Two each of the characters it seems to be a magical portal that takes them each to a different world from their world that they each know and love. Each of the characters also leaves behind someone they care about a lot. In Pendragon the main character has to fight in a war that could destroy the whole world causing each of the worlds that are all connected to each other to be destroyed as well. In Incarceron the world is also in danger of falling apart because if everyone finds out about what’s really going on there will be a civil war that could destroy everything. Throughout both books there is plenty of action, from the battle scenes like in the prison and at the castle when they invade the realm to kill the prince. Each book is pure fantasy because of their magical elements that are throughout each of the books. From the portals to the vanishing house there is a lot that is magical to both worlds. There’s also a lot of mystery too like who the real prince is to the vanishing house. Pendragon and Incarceron are both viewed through the eyes of the characters. They both also switch between each of the main characters. “Uncle Press did a lot for me as I was growing up and never asked for a single thing in return. Until now. How could I turn him down?” (Pendragon 9). “If it means my death, I don't care, because even death will be a sort of freedom.” (Incarceron). Both of these Quotes show a character is talking and it’s not the author. Another quote that shows how the story begins in Pendragon, I hope you’re reading this, Mark. “Heck, I hope anybody’s reading this because the only thing that’s keeping me from going totally off my nut right now is getting this all down on paper so that someday, when it’s all over, it’ll help prove that I’m not a total whack job. You see, two things happened yesterday that changed my life forever.” (Pendragon 1).Each story has to do with saving the world in one way or the other. While Pendragon deals with more than one world they are still saving a world. The characters are also pretty close to being the same because in some ways they are a lot alike. There are really three main characters in each book and they both have two boys and a girl in each group. Also in each story there is a couple that falls in love in both of the books. And they each have to find out the truth of what’s going on and where the other is. It’s a mystery and a suspenseful story for both of the books, each has its moments from the exploding mines and battle to the wondrous journey through the prison and through the journey of the kingdom. Each of the characters are all lovable in their own special way. The humor and action is laid on thick in both books. Both books are a good taste of adventure that readers can enjoy and appreciate at every turn. These are some of the best books I’ve ever read and I think they deserve there fame.

· Who gets to decide what good writing is? Who should decide? Why?
I believe that good writing should be decided by anyone who reads not the people who are paid for reading books. This is because one or two judgments on a book could be completely wrong and having everyone vote and decide which books have good writing. This is a more fair and less judgmental process for the author and there book. So I say put it to a vote and let all the readers decide which has the best. Then after the votes are cast the top book will be shown on this year’s top list as number one. Just like they are now except everyone will have voted instead of just a couple of people. The reasons for it to be done this way are because it is first fair. Everyone could vote and that’s the beauty of it it’s perfect no arguing and no single decisions. Second it has more than just two people voting on the book and not a single individual or group.
· Why should we want kids to read books anyway?
We should want kids to read because I believe it is important to first know how to read. Reading is an essential tool in everyday life and is one of the most important things to know besides how to talk. It also can be fun and enjoyable if you are reading the right book and enjoy books. Also reading books helps you learn about things. You can learn about history from books even if they are fiction they can still be accurate. Also you can learn new words and definitions to words.

In the book I Am #4 some challenges that every director faces when makeing a movie is in its length. Keeping the details and story the same while not changing it to much or loosing to much of the story along the way. Three scenes that need to stay are when John first gets his powers. Second when he first meets Sarah at the school and how they get together. Last the ending when Henry dies and the story ends. We would probobly have to cut some of the smaller scenes like some of the times that John and Sarah get together. Another scene that would need to be cut would be the meatball scene with the princible.

Book One Project
The Hunger Games park opens up to the public in three days. The park is remarkably big and is designed for many open areas and along with many restricted areas out past the fence. This park will feature many different kinds of food and items each representing different parts of the thirteen districts in the book. There will be a small arena that you can travel through showing the battlegrounds of the first game in the book. There will be actors acting out the story every couple hours along with free refreshments to and participating citizens that would like to take part in the archery contest to see if you can shoot as good as Katniss from the book. Each district will have a contest depending on the special job from each district. There will be a gift shop at the entrance of the park selling anything from food to souvenirs. There will be pins for each districts specialization as well as mocking jay pins for all the revolutionaries. There will be numerous challenges along the roads if you wish to embark on them, some dealing with nature, others animals or people and maybe even some game maker surprises. Weather they come from above or below like in a parachute that helped the contestants so many times or it’s a ball of fire speeding your way like when the game makers push Katniss to other contestants for a fight, you won’t know until you take on the challenges that the games will show. There will be weapons of every kind that where in the books for you to buy and us in the training arena to show off your skills the sponsors or to take home as souvenirs. If you want you can even rent a weapon to show off your prowess. For the people who just want to sit back and relax there will be the main city centered the middle of the park. Just like the nations center in the book the center will be luxurious and beautiful with some of the most exotic and most beautiful pieces of art, food, and furniture the world has to offer. With its thirteen floors to the central building, open roof with a garden and a beautiful view below it’s only a matter of time before you fall for the central city in Panem. On the entrance sits a sign that reads “Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor!” (Collins19) There will also be signs in the different areas around the park of some of the best quotes from the book. One of my favorites would be, “Here’s some advice. Stay alive.” (Collins 56) Also every time the park gets is seventy fifth player in the day an announcement will play, “Ladies and Gentlemen, let the Seventy-forth hunger games begin!” (Collins 147) Just to keep things relatively the same. The idea behind the park is to show how much we appreciate the books story and to show that we want others to come and see and enjoy the story in all its glory. We won’t our citizens to not just dream of being able to go the Panem, but to enjoy it by coming to our park. We try to bring everything that the story has to offer, from the small parts of the story to the extreme parts. Where once it was just a book then it became someone’s dream. Well now we wanted to make it a reality. So we stuck to the story and tried to bring in all the best parts, from the games to the food and to that old book that started it all. We’ve brought all the good the bad and brought it together to try to make the most fun filled park that we can have without anyone getting hurt of course. This park we hope will really draw in the audience and bring the numerous fans to our park in an attempted to show them such a great story. Here is what some of it looks like ubove.

A book is a story that shines light into my life. It brings me adventure and entertainment when I have none. With the use of imagery and my imagination I can create a world and a type of mental video out of the story’s that I read. I believe every story has multiple endings that only the reader can see. The author may write the tale but you tell the story through the characters you like and the adventures you go one. The main character of any story is like the sun in a windy day it keeps you worm and safe but doesn’t burn you. The quotes that are above are rather simple views on books they don’t see them as they really are. Your imagination that runs wild through the tails that others have written. It in itself is the author’s expression as well as your own because everyone who reads it will have their own thoughts and ideas on the book and opinions. I kind of agree with the first one but only in the fact that a book is what you see in it. The second person I like the most because they express their views on books as if they are real and have feeling which in a way I can see why she would think that. The last person I don’t even really get what their saying but it sounds like they hate books by the last line of their quote. And it’s sad to see someone who can’t appreciate the beauty of the story because it’s not about the book and what it looks like but the story that means everything. Every book is magical if you see the story and not just the book cover. I believe that all books are good but only if your imagination has the capacity to dream up the story in your head like I do.

Why do i read?
I read go on an adventure to a new world. To entertain me and make me feel free and let my imagination run wild. Everything that I read I can picture in my head and so in a way it’s like a movie to me it just goes until the book ends. When it does end my imagination is running wild for what would happen in the next book or what could happen even if there isn't another book. Reading really gets my mind thinking and predicting about what’s going to happen next and how the story is going to end. It’s the anticipation that really keeps me going throughout the book to see how the story ends. Another thing is that i read for the story, it’s all about the story for me really. I like to hear a good story, a story that has adventure and action but at the same time doesn’t forget about the story not just the action and suspense. The story drives me to keep on going even if things aren't looking so good for my favorite character. I have to know what happens and I will not look at the end of the book until I’ve read every page up until that point because then it makes the story pointless and dull. Hopefully the hunger games will be a good book for me.
